FERAL UPDATE!!!! BIG BOI Is On The Mend!!!! (VIDEO)

BIG BOI eating a Squeeze Up! YAY!

Hey all!

This BIG BOI was in rough shape when he first got here, but slowly and surely, he's getting better.

He has the fighting spirit of a full-grown tiger and a head that is just about as big.

We can tell he's on the mend because his appetite has picked up, and he's even demanding tubes of "squeeze-ups" for lunch.

To give you an idea of just what we're dealing with here, I filmed myself giving him the treat, and he even took a swing at me... Made me so happy!

If BOG BOI is gonna go back to the colony and rule the roost like he did, he's going to have to be at his fighting weight, and if he keeps eating like this, that shouldn't be too long!

Without further ado, here is "Lunchtime With BIG BOI!"...

FERAL INCOMING!!!! Colony's BIG BOI Was Attacked By A Predator And Almost Died (#646)

Hey all!

This BIG man is the top dog – as it were – of a large feral colony a couple of miles outside of Riverhead, New York.

The colony is taken care of by a group of kind people from around the neighborhood, and we have done several TNRs for them over the years.

Last week we got a call that the leader of the colony was attacked, possibly by a neighborhood dog, fox, or coyote, and was in bad shape.

When we trapped him he was close to death.

His ears had been ripped off, and while his open wounds weren't overwhelming, it was the internal damage to his organs, including his bladder, that was scary.

He was sedated and catheterized, and given intravenous fluids until he stabilized.

He miraculously pulled through – because he's a really tough guy - and is now on the mend in our shelter until he is well enough to go home and rule the roost once again.

We have decided to call him BIG BOI – yes, all cap locked – because he has the most enormous, most magnificent head we have EVER seen!

Updates to come.

FERAL INCOMING!!!! An Upset Boy With A Painful Ear Polyp (#645)

Hey everyone,

A few weeks ago we got a call from a woman about her backyard feral, saying her boy wasn't doing well and that he had some kind of damage to the left side of his head.

The woman said she was worried and asked if we could come and trap him and get him to the vet.

After trapping him, we realized that there was a problem with his ear and that whatever it was he was not happy about it.

It turns out he had a very painful polyp growing in his ear and that it needed to be removed.

Luckily the polyp was benign, but he would need to be held for a week until his ear healed.

The big boy is now hold up in the intake room, enjoying the A/C and unlimited food until he heals up.

He may look sweet, but no pets for this man unless you want trouble!

I think he wants to go home!!!!
